AUSTIN CITY LIMITS BOWS OCT. 1 ON PBS

Mumford & Sons, The Decemberists, Miranda Lambert, Randy Newman Headliners for Show's 37th Season

Legendary music series Austin City Limits’ 37th season gets underway on PBS Oct. 1, the first filmed entirely in the show’s new venue ACL Live at the Moody Theater in downtown Austin. The season premiere features Mumford & Sons and Flogging Molly.

“This is a milestone year for Austin City Limits—the first season in our incredible new home, which may well be the most unique live music venue anywhere in the United States,” said executive producer Terry Lickona. “On top of that, we continue our tradition of showcasing the best new talent in today’s music, along with the legends, trendsetters and iconoclasts, and a few surprises along the way. In fact, this might be our most eclectic year yet!”

The show’s new home at the Moody Theater boasts a cutting-edge, digital system that provides for higher quality television production and allows more fans to attend the tapings.

Season 37 brings together a diverse mix of artists and genres from around the country. In

addition to Grammy-nominated superstars Mumford & Sons, episodes will feature long-time favorites Arcade Fire and Coldplay, alongside rising stars such as Joanna Newsom, country sensation Miranda Lambert and the R&B-inspired Raphael Saadiq.

Other episodes include performances by Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, Widespread Panic, The Decemberists, Gillian Welch, the Steve Miller Band, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Jeff Bridges, Randy Newman, Florence + the Machine, the Head and the Heart, and Gomez, plus a few unannounced surprises. Austin City Limits will travel to Nashville to capture highlights from performances at the 10th Americana Music Association Honors and Awards ceremony at the historic Ryman Auditorium, to air Nov. 19.
