KWATINETZ HITS THEM OUT OF THE PARK

Kwatman, Barry and the Franks' Prospect Park Has a Number of TV Series in Development and Ready to Air
Jeff Kwatinetz's Prospect Park is heating up, with several prime-time TV projects in the wake of his deal to produce ABC’s canceled soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live, with former ABC exec Josh Barry recently joining Paul Frank and father Rich as a partner in the TV division, according to Nikki Finke’s always reliable Deadline.com site.

Hey, we don’t want her to sue us.

So far, the company has had each of its pilots picked up, with Royal Pains at USA Network and Wilfred at FX, both renewed for another season.

The other projects include GILF, written by Wilfred co-creator and star Jason Gann, about an adopted man who, at the urging of his wife, seeks out his biological mother, only to discover she’s a porn star, and invites her to move in.

Built in a Day, at ABC, is from writer Mike Larsen (Real Time With Bill Maher). Set 3,000 years ago, it tells the story of Atticus, a promising young speechwriter whose ability has landed him a job at the most prestigious PR firm in Ancient Rome.

Freestyle, also at ABC, from Richard Kramer, is a soap set around the sexy world of one of the nation’s preeminent dance centers.

Cyber Crimes, at Fox, is from Bones writer Carla Kettner, about a techno-phobe female FBI agent partnered with a gliby, handsome computer hacker to solve violent crimes.

Girl Band at MTV, from Death Valley writer Eric Weinberg with star Caity Lotz as producer, is described as “Spice Girls meets Spinal Tap,” a half-hour mockumentary about a semi-famous European girl group as they try to make it big in America.

Diplomatic Immunity, from writer Daran Little, set up at NBC International, is a sexy soap that follows the outrageous exploits of foreign diplomats as they party on London's Embassy Row.

Prospect Park's slate also includes two recently announced projects:

The Frontier at NBC, from writer Shaun Cassidy, with Sony producing and Thomas Schlamme attached to direct and executive produce the pilot, which chronicles the journey of a group of travelers from Missouri to the West Coast in 1840 struggling to survive as they band together to form a family.

Princess of Whales at Lifetime, from writer Stephen Kronish and produced in association with Kathryn Morris' Revival House, is based on the true story of Marcia Hartman, one of Las Vegas’ most successful "hostesses.”
