DISTURBED SEEK ASYLUM AT #1

Veteran Chicago Hardcore Band’s Fifth Reprise Album Will Bow on Top, with Capitol/EMI’s Now 35 Also Debuting
Veteran Chicago hardcore band Disturbed offer concrete proof the inmates have taken over the Asylum.

The band’s new Reprise album of the same name, its fifth overall, looks headed to a chart-topping debut on next week’s HITS Top 50, with a total that should be between 145-160k.

That should be enough to unseat this week’s #1 album, Katie Perry’s Teenage Dream, according to those music retailers who haven’t conveniently forgotten our e-mail, fax and phone numbers.

While it remains to be seen how the Labor Day weekend will affect sales, it looks like Capitol/EMI’s Now 35 will score in the 105-115k range.

Asylum’s Lyfe Jennings is the next-highest newcomer, with 35-45k predicted for the R&B crooner’s fourth album, I Still Believe.

Warner Bros. veteran rockers Goo Goo Dolls return with their ninth album, Something for the Rest of Us, and first since 2006, on target for 30-40k, while

Sony Legacy’s Heart album, Red Velvet Car, is in the 25-30k range

Universal Republic’s Knoxville, TN, rock band 10 Years is back with their fifth album, Feeding the Wolves, looking at a first-week total of 15-20k, the same total expected for Lost Highway Oscar-winning songwriter Ryan Bingham’s Junky Star.

Eleven Seven Inland Empire metal vets Papa Roach return with the aptly titled Time for Annihilation, which is eyeing 15-18k in first-week sales.
