FAR EAST, THE READY SET TO GO

An L.A.-based hip-hop collective and a young Midwestern singer/songwriter make their way onto the HITS’ Vibe-Rater section this week, joining a list of 16 new and developing artists making inroads on mainstream success.

And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn, right near some neat bohemian neighborhoods.

But seriously, folks, Cherrytree/Interscope act Far East Movement is generating some blogger love with “Like a G6,” from their upcoming major label bow, Free Wired, which hits retail Oct. 12. Several Rhythm Crossover stations are already aboard, while the band has to date sold more than 500k tracks, with more than 3 million views on YouTube and Vevo. There’s plenty of TV, too, with appearances on Lopez (9/29) and a Monique taping to air next month, as well as ongoing tour dates with Mike Posner. See the complete entry here.

Sire/WB recording artist The Ready Set is the name under which young Ft. Wayne, IN, singer-songwriter Jordan Witzigreuter performs, and with that mouthful of a name, who can blame him? The track, “Love Like Woe,” from his recently released album I’m Alive, I’m Dreamin’, is already seeing adds from Top 40 stations like WNOU, KBKS, KJYO and KUDD, among others.
