WHEN THE SHIP COMES IN:
EARLY DYLAN DEMOS, MONO ALBUMS COMING THIS FALL

Bootleg Series Goes Back to the Beginning, Early LPs Go Back to Mono
This fall, Columbia Legacy will release the latest edition of Bob Dylan’s bootleg series plus reissues of his earliest albums in a form never before on CD, Dylan fansite Isis reports.

The Bootleg Series Vol. 9, coming in October, will feature 47 studio recordings from 1962-64, collectively known to fans as the "Witmark Demos" and "Leeds Demos," after the N.Y. studios where Dylan recorded.

The archival label will also reissue mono mixes of Bob’s first eight albums, from his 1962 self-titled debut through 1967's John Wesley Harding. The reissues—reportedly mastered using "first issue copies of the mono LPs" in order to recreate the sound of the original vinyl—will come packaged in paper sleeves, with liner written by (who else?) Greil Marcus.
