A HARD WAYNE’S
FINALLY GONNNA DROP

Lil Wayne’s Long-Awaited Tha Carter IV Now Set for Release August 29
The long wait is nearly over.

Lil Wayne's much-delayed Tha Carter IV is almost here. The MC confirmed to MTV News the fourth installment of his best-selling series will drop on August 29.

Tha Carter III, which dropped in June 2008, sold more than a million copies in its first week, winning the Grammy for Best Rap Album, selling more than 3.5 million domestically. Tha Carter was released in 2004, and went on to sell 878k copies in the U.S., while the follow-up, Tha Carter II, hit in 2005, and sold more than 1.4 million in the States.

Wayne is making up for the delay by releasing a new mixtape, appropriately titled Sorry for the Wait. The 10-track album will be similar to his 2009 compilation, No Ceilings, featuring Wayne's signature raps over other artist's beats.

Tha Carter IV will include Weezy's ballad to the ladies, "How to Love," which he admits was inspired by the late Tupac Shakur.

"That song is just sweeping the world. It's touching every woman, that's what it was for," Wayne said. "It was like Tupac had 'Keep Ya Head Up' and it was a message to women and little girls across the world just to keep your head up even though things are hard."

Sorry for the Wait is expected to come out within the next 24 hours.
