SPOTLIGHT
Drake Murphy (www.drakemurphy.com, www.myspace.com/drakemurphy1.com): This kid is quite amazing, and his single “She’s Going Crazy” has erupted as a cult dance-floor classic and is sweeping the country. It has had several hundred spins in Oklahoma City, Vegas, Nashville and New York. The track was cut in Drake Murphy’s personal studio where he played all of the instruments live. This guy is on the cutting edge of eclectic rock’s return to the forefront. Check him out ASAP—he’s definitely going somewhere, and fast.

Signal the Escape (www.myspace.com/signaltheescape): This Connecticut-based quintet is making some serious noise with an EP on Double Blind Music (Sparks the Rescue, 32 Leaves), featuring the radio-friendly "Wrapped Around Her Finger." Though the bandmembers are barely out of their teens, Signal the Escape are the whole package, with the hooks and looks primed for mainstream success a la All American Rejects and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Danni Rosner (www.dannirosner.com): Working on a new album with Danny Kalb (Ben Harper's co-producer on the Relentless 7 album, A Fine Frenzy, Rilo Kiley, Jack Johnson, etc.). Had success with Non-Comm stations across the board; also working with Triple A radio/MM Music to promote her current record. Just played a showcase at Sunset Sessions and landed the label panel spot as the only indie artist there without representation. Has been getting some buzz with Tunecore (world's largest online music distributor) and just featured in their blog. Doing a radio show with The Sound 99.1 in OBX today (4/2). Showcase at Best Buy in N.Y. on April 8 to celebrate the distribution of her album to select stores on the East Coast. Click on above link for free downloads.
