COSGROVE, FRANTI PRESENT CASES AT VIBE, V V BROWN RETURNS

Columbia Records’s 17-year-old Miranda Cosgrove, the star of Nickelodeon’s hit TV show iCarly, is starting to conquer Pop radio with the single, “Kissn’ U,” from the album, Sparks Fly, now at nearly 100k in sales. Major stations like Q102, WRVW, Q100, KRBE and more are aboard, with nice vid action at MTV Hits as well as Nick and Teen Nick. Look for upcoming TV appearances on Jimmy Fallon (6/21), Today Show (6/22) and Regis and Kelly (6/23). Cosgrove is managed by Direct Mgmt.’s Martin Kirkup, who also handles pop diva Katy Perry. Reggae/rock veteran Michael Franti of Spearhead returns to EMI, who are distributing his Boo Boo Wax/Capitol label, with not just one, but two, separate tracks working at radio. “Sound of Sunshine,” the title track from the album slated for an Aug. 24 release, is currently running a streak of three straight weeks #1 Most Added at Triple A. “Shake It,” set to impact June 21, is already finding believers at Top 40 and Hot Adult. Red-hot U.K. cutting-edge neo-soul diva V V Brown is back on the Vibe trail, as “Shark in the Water” begins to cross at multiple formats, with stations like WTMX, KPSI, WDVW, WKRQ, WXXX, KYIS and KJMY jumping aboard.
