SOCIAL NETWORK, GLEE LEAD THE WAY AT GOLDEN GLOBES

Nerwork's Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Win Best Score, Diane Warren Earns Best Song
The Golden Globes don't get much respect, but this year they may serve as a bellweather for the upcoming Oscars, with Academy Award nominations set to be announced on Jan. 25.

Even host Ricky Gervais made fun of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, saying they nominated The Tourist only so they could have their pictures taken with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, and that they accepted bribes.

Still, the 85 or so members went along with the critical consensus, as The Social Network topped the list of winners with four of the little buggers, earning Best Movie Drama, as well as Best Director for David Fincher and Best Screenplay for Aaron Sorkin. It also won for Best Score, with an almost unrecognizable Trent Reznor and partner Atticus Ross in suits to accept the award.

Fox's hit TV show Glee was the big TV winner, with three Globes, including Best TV Comedy and wins for supporting actress Jane Lynch and supporting actor Chris Colfer.

Diane Warren won her first Golden Globe in five nominations for Best Song for Cher's "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me," from Burlesque, a movie pretty much dismissed by most critics.

Other winners include Oscar front-runners Colin Firth (The King's Speech) for Best Actor in a Drama, Natalie Portman (Black Swan) for Best Actress in a Drama, Christian Bale (The Fighter) for Best Supporting Actor and Melissa Leo (The Fighter) for Best Supporting Actress. Paul Giamatti won for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical (Barney's Version) and Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right) for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical, while the movie itself won for Best Comedy or Musical.

Broadway Empire won for Best TV Drama, Steve Buscemi as Best Actor in a TV Drama and Katey Sagal as Best Actress in a TV Drama, Al Pacino (You Don't Know Jack) and Claire Danes (Temple Grandin) for Best Performance by an Actor/and Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, while Sundhance Channel's Carlos about the terrorist known as the Jackal earned Best Mini-Series of Motion Picture Made for Television. The Big C's Laura Linney and The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons won as Best Actress and Actor in a Televisoin Series, Musical or Comedy.
