Black Ice Wal-Mart Exclusive Hits 802k, Besting Long Road Out of Eden’s 711k
The "Highway to Hell" is paved with riches for Aussie vets AC/DC’s new Columbia Records album, Black Ice, which sold 802k copies in its first week at Wal-Mart stores nationwide.

That’s the second highest first-week total of the year, behind Lil Wayne’s one million and ahead of Coldplay’s 721k.

Disney’s High School Musical 3: Senior Year soundtrack, the third installment of the lucrative franchise, debuts at #2 with 292k. The second version debuted at #1 last August with 615k.

Columbia gospel group Mary Mary are the only other Top 10 entry at #7.

The rest of the Top 10 includes Grand Hustle/Atlantic rapper T.I. (#3), BNA/SBMG Nashville’s Kenny Chesney (#4), Warner Bros.Metallica (#5), Atlantic’s Kid Rock (#6), Def Jam/IDJMG’s Ne-Yo (#8), Arista/RMG’s Jennifer Hudson (#9) and Columbia’s red-hot Adele, riding her performance of “Chasing Pavements” on Saturday Night Live into the Top 10, moving from #49 with a whopping 156% climb.

Other Top 50 newcomers include MCA Nashville’s Lee Ann Womack (#21), Curb’s Hank Williams III (#28), Broken Bow’s Craig Morgan (#38), Verve’s LaBelle (#41) and Dualtone’s Brett Dennen (#43). 19/Arista/RMG artist Carrie Underwood’s Carnival Ride re-enters the chart at #34.

Aside from Adele, the week’s big gainer is Atlantic’s Jason Mraz, riding the heels of his hit single, “I’m Yours” with the album We Sing We Dance We Steal Things (#21-13, +12%).

Hitting stores today are LaFace/ZLG’s P!nk, Show Dog’s Toby Keith, Columbia’s John Legend, greatest hits albums from Lyric Street’s Rascal Flatts, Columbia's Celine Dion and MCA Nashville’s Reba McEntire (a box set) and Lost Highway’s Ryan Adams and the Cardinals.
