Janszen will get to trim the cuticles of TV composer Mike Post. Post was partners and a longtime friend of Carpetner, who co-wrote such TV themes as NYPD Blue, Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law and Law and Order with him ASCAP salutes it own Grammy winners, including Robert Plant, who led all winners with five, while Coldplay, John Mayer, Ne-Yo, Brad Paisley and Sugarland also earned multiple honors. Old friend Tom DeSavia is still trying to remember where he was that night… Music Sales Corporation is marking what would have been the 100th birthday of songwriter Carl Sigman by spotlighting the legendary tunesmith’s catalog, which includes such classics as “It’s All in the Game,” “Ebb Tide,” “What Now, My Love” and “Arrivederci Roma” with a three-CD box set or re-recorded standards and a songbook featuring a 15,000 word essay about Sigman by his son Mike, a longtime pal and former L.A. Weekly publisher… Longtime publishing exec Allan Tepper puts up his own shingle as Tepper Music Management, specializing in music publishing, songwriter and artist development, as well as licensing songs for movies, TV and advertising placement. He has been with Warner/Chappell Music, MPL Communications, Columbia Pictures Music Group, United Artists Music, MCA Publishing, CBS Songs and, most recently, Bicycle Music, where he coined the term Tepperwear for his fledgling clothing firm.
