Atlantic’s Death Cab for Cutie tops HITS’ Album Sales this week, as the band’s new album Narrow Stairs climbs to #1, with 142k in sales.

The DCFC album was one of five to bow in this week’s Top 10.

Reprise/Rhino starts rolling out the Frank Sinatra catalog, with the hits compilation Nothing but the Best bowing this week at #2, selling 93k. Doo-bee-doo-be-do indeed.

Atlantic folk rapper Jason Mraz’s explicitly titled We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things enters at #3 with 74k in sales, just ahead of U.K. retro pop sensation Duffy’s Mercury album, Rockferry, with 72k.

The only other Top 10 newcomer is Rhino’s soul crooner Keith Sweat’s Just Me in at #10.

Holdovers include a trio of divas in J Records/RMG X Factor winner Leona LewisSpirit is #5, recently betrothed Island/IDJ superstar Mariah Carey’s E=MC2 at #6 and WB dance icon Madonna’s Hard Candy sitting sweet at #7.

Legendary Columbia singer-songwriter Neil Diamond, last week’s #1, is at #8 with the Rick Rubin-produced Home Before Dark, followed by UMe/Show Dog’s Toby Keith compilation, 35 Biggest Hits.

Top 50 chart newcomers include Universal Republic rockers 10 Years (#12), Walt Disney RecordsChronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian soundtrack (#24) and Filter’s first new album in seven years, Pulse RecordingsAnthems for the Damned (#50).

Atlantic’s Kid Rock shows the most upward mobility, moving #42-29, +5%, from the previous week.

Arista Nashville’s Brad Paisley (#38), BNA/SBMG Nashville’s Kenny Chesney (#40) and Lyric Street’s Rascal Flatts (#46) all return to the chart, thanks to exposure from the build-up to last weekend’s ACM awards show in Las Vegas.

Next week, look for Universal Republic’s 3 Doors Down to debut at or near the top. Other new releases expected to crack the Top 50 include Rap-a-Lot/Asylum’s Bun B, the remaining live member of Houston rappers UGK, Universal Republic’s The Flobots, Hollywood’s Jesse McCartney and Burgundy’s Donna Summer.
