The video of the opening track from the album, “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’,” is now being streamed on Amazon.com through tomorrow, when it’ll move to Dylan’s own website here.
Dylan’s not actually in the video, which, like the album cover, employs the raw black-and-white photographs of Bruce Davidson’s 1959 “Brooklyn Gang” series to create a montage for the music.
Davidson originally met a group of
Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter co-wrote the words to nine of the 10 tracks with Dylan. Fans got a sneak preview of the album at this past weekend’s Record Store Day.
In other Dylan news, the Daily News' David Hinckley reports that Bob's celebrated Sirius XM broadcast, Theme Time Radio Hour, may well be over after 100 episodes. Dylan signed off his latest show with Woody Guthrie's "So Long, It's Been Good to Know Yuh" after a program whose common element was "goodbye." Cadillac, a sponsor of the show, pulled out recently, amid major cutbacks at the merged satellite radio company.
