LADY ANTEBELLUM ON A NEED TO KNOW

Country Group Prepares for Year’s Biggest Debut
Get ready for Lady Antebellum.

The Capitol Nashville act, named the CMA’s Vocal Group of the Year, a Grammy nominee for Best New Artist last year and up for two awards in this Sunday’s awards ceremony, release their sophomore album, Need You Now, today.

The disc is expected to bow at #1 next week with the year’s highest sales total.

After almost a year of writing and recording, members Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood will set off on a jam-packed schedule of appearances, including a performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show tomorrow (1/27), as well as playing both the MusiCares Tribute to Neil Young on Friday (1/29) and CBS’ telecast of the Grammy Awards on Sunday (1/31), as well as a two-song outdoor concert on Jimmy Kimmel Live Feb. 2.  The band will wrap up three weeks on the road with a trip to Vancouver for a performance on The Today Show  live from the 2010 Olympic games on Feb. 16.

“I’ve never felt more excited about anything in our career,” said Kelley. “We put our heart and soul into the songs on this album. Our schedule is crazy, but I can’t think of anything in the world I’d rather be doing than getting this album out to the fans.”

The band is offering fans who purchase either the physical or digital album, through any retailer, added bonus content through ladyantebellum.com.  One track will be given away each month in 2010 with the first track available starting today. The band is world-premiering the album online through MySpace Music, and they will also participate in AOL’s “Sessions” program and Yahoo’s “Maximum Performance series. Lala is also offering the fan-inspired track "Stars Tonight" through the Facebook gift store, a first time promotion for a country artist.

Lady Antebellum is nominated for two Grammy Awards, including “Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals” and “Best Country Song.” The title track on Need You Now has been #1 for five straight weeks at Country radio and the most downloaded digital country single on iTunes for 11 consecutive weeks.  The second single from the upcoming album is “American Honey” and can be previewed here.

Lady A will join Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice” tour kicking off on Feb. 11 in Omaha, NE.
