EMI MUSIC LAUNCHES NEW COUNTRY LABEL

Capitol Nashville Head Mike Dungan Expands His Empire
Building on successes with Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban and Darius Rucker, Capitol Nashville has spawned a brand-new country label, EMI Nashville.

Capitol Nashville head Mike Dungan will have both labels reporting to him.

Designed to as a sister label, EMI Nashville’s first signing is singer/songwriter Troy Olsen, with a debut album slated for release later this year. With idols like Dwight Yoakam, Lyle Lovett and Bruce Springsteen, the Arizona-born third generation rancher has written tracks for Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton, among others.

"I dreamed of having a record deal from the first time I picked up a guitar," said Olsen. "To now have that dream come true with the best team in Nashville, and with the legendary significance of EMI, is more than I could have imagined."

Capitol Records Nashville Director of Promotion Angela Lange joins the new label as VP Promotion. The Atlanta native came to Capitol Nashville in 2002 as West Coast regional promotion, moving to Nashville in 2005.

Said Dungan: "Establishing EMI Records Nashville is part of our growth strategy and a
way to provide artists a terrific creative home and a top-notch, dedicated team to help build their careers. We couldn't be more pleased to have an artist as unique and groundbreaking as Troy christen the roster of EMI Records Nashville. This demonstrates our commitment to and investment in the country genre. Fasten your seatbelt, because we have a lot more in store for fans and our partners in retail and radio. Now watch out while I aim for that spittoon in the corner."
