There was still plenty of Michael Jackson action, with Bad moving #37-21, +82% and Dangerous climbing #44-30, +53%.

COLBIE BREAKS THROUGH, MILEY LEAKS AT #2

Atlantic’s Skillet, RCA’s Imogen Heap Also Bow in Top 10
Colbie Caillat’s Breakthrough is complete.

The Universal Republic singer/songwriter bows at #1 on this week’s HITS Album chart with 109k in sales, one of four newcomers to the Top 10, thanks to her hit single, “Fallin’ for You.”

Miley Cyrus’ seven-song Wal-Mart exclusive, The Time of Our Lives, on Hollywood, featuring the Pop smash, “Party in the U.S.A.,” beats its Aug. 31 street date with enough sales to land at #2, moving 63k, just 17 pieces more than Atlantic Christian rock husband-wife band Skillet’s Awake at #3.

Michael Jackson’s Number Ones (#4) and RCA/RMG’s Kings of Leon (#5), up another 16%, round out the Top 5.

RCA/RMG underground fave Imogen Heap is the Top 10’s other new entry, at #6, followed by last week’s chart-topper, Valory’s Reba McEntire (#7), MCA Nashville’s George Strait (#8), Interscope’s Black Eyed Peas (#9) and Big Machine’s Taylor Swift (#10).

Other Top 50 debuts include Sony Music’s Now Country 2 (#11), Capitol’s LeToya (#15), Domino’s Arctic Monkeys (#19), Cabin 24’s Ingrid Michaelson (#22), Epic’s Matisyahu (#23), Atlantic’s NeedtoBreathe (#26), Loud & Proud/Roadrunner’s Collective Soul (#28), Verve’s Queen Latifah (#29), Real Horrorshow’s Jet (#36) and Hollywood’s Love & Theft (#39).

There was still plenty of Michael Jackson action, with Bad moving #37-21, +82% and Dangerous climbing #44-30, +53%.

The only other significant gainer, in addition to Kings of Leon, is RCA/RMG’s Dave Matthews Band, at #48, +8%.

Hitting retail this week, Arista/RMG’s Whitney Houston should garner a #1 bow, with Hollywood’s Miley Cyrus also looking for still-potent sales in her second week. Other releases include Atlantic’s Trey Songz, Reprise’s The Used, J/RCA’s Pitbull, Psychopathic’s Insane Clown Posse, Verve Music Group’s John Fogerty and the Blue Ridge Rangers and Epic’s Chevelle.
