WHEELS 2.0 SXSW PREVIEW
Erica Gets On Her Boots…Make That Cowgirl Boots, as She Heads Out to the Music Biz’s Version of Spring Break

Wheels is splitting apart again, but before we do, we have some great updates, an amazing new singer/songwriter to tell you about and some killer SXSW shows we think you should attend. Jesse bids adieu to Erica as she jet sets Southwest style, yee-haw! Jesse holds down the fort and sends Wheels vibes in the general direction of Texas, if ya’ll catch our drift…

Don’t forget to add Erica on Twitter (rknthefreewrld) for all things related to SXSW. And, SXSW megasuperheavy Karen Glauber will also be making her annual pilgrimage—make sure you attend her star-studded panel…or else. In the meantime, keep the music flowin’ and our inbox filled with treats at [email protected].

ONE TO WATCH
Juliet Roberts
(www.myspace.com/julietrmusic): An L.A. native and self-taught singer/songwriter, Juliet meshes emotive lyrics and soulful melodies to create “positive music that makes people happy.” Drawing on influences from Jason Mraz to Regina Spektor, she’s come up with deep but accessible songs like “Diving In” that will leave you wanting more. We had the pleasure of seeing this young talent play to a beaming crowd earlier this week and can guarantee you won’t want to miss her next gig at the M Bar on March 20 (assuming you aren’t following Erica’s tweets around at SXSW, of course). She adds that special touch to her live performance by not only engaging the audience but encouraging them to pick a topic for her to sing about—on the spot! If you thought free-stylin’ was for the hip-hop crowd, come find out how this rising star is redefining the term.

BAND/ARTIST UPDATES
Chalk another one up for the Wheels team, as Kevin “KC” Cossom, one of last week’s picks, just inked a deal with Jive, with a single impacting shortly, congrats, Kevin!

Little Boots performed on Last Call with Carson Daly last week.

Our buddy Howie Abrams has formed a new management company with his current management client, rapper Ill Bill; they’ve dubbed the newco Street Justice. SJ's first client is an awesome 22 year-old animator named Adam Calfee, whom Bill found while scouring the Internet for someone to do an animated video for his song "My Uncle."
