Also performing were Beyonce, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus (who turned 16 yesterday), Ne-Yo, New Kids on the Block, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis, Pussycat Dolls, Taylor Swift and The Fray.
Presenting Artist of the Year to Brown were Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Unannounced guest Justin Timberlake presented Annie Lennox with an Award of Merit, the AMAs’ version of lifetime-achievement honors, while Mariah was recognized for becoming the solo artist with the most #1 hits in history
