AMAs KICK OFF AWARDS SEASON

Here’s Your Complete Rundown of the Artists and Celebs Who Showed Up for the Big Night
Chris Brown won three awards, including Favorite Artist of the Year, while Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Kanye West each took home two trophies at the 36th annual American Music Awards, which aired last night on ABC from the Nokia Theatre.

The show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, featured a record 19 performances, including Keyes' performance of "Superwoman" with Queen Latifah and opera star Kathleen Battle, P!nk and Sarah McLachlan teaming up on "Angel" and a seven-minute medley of Christina Aguilera's greatest hits.

Also performing were Beyonce, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus (who turned 16 yesterday), Ne-Yo, New Kids on the Block, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis, Pussycat Dolls, Taylor Swift and The Fray.

Presenting Artist of the Year to Brown were Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Unannounced guest Justin Timberlake presented Annie Lennox with an Award of Merit, the AMAs’ version of lifetime-achievement honors, while Mariah was recognized for becoming the solo artist with the most #1 hits in history

Showing up to present awards were Akon, David Archuleta, Lance Bass, Colbie Caillat, David Cook, Billy Ray Cyrus, Daughtry, Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton, Julianne Hough, Terrence Howard, Enrique Iglesias, Nick Lachey, Demi Lovato, Jesse McCartney, Motley Crue, Nickelback, Richie Sambora, Jordin Sparks, The-Dream Ashley Tisdale, T-Pain, Kate Walsh, Scott Weiland and Shailene Woodley.
