Hitting retail this week and expected to battle for #1 are Geffen rapper The Game’s L.A.X. and Roadrunner metal Grammy winners Slipknot, with the aptly titled All Hope Is Gone.

O BROTHERS!

Staind, Ice Cube and Shwayze Debut in Top 10, as Disney Teen Rockers Hold Serve Another Week
It’ll be just A Little Bit Longer at #1 for Hollywood Records teen sensations the Jonas Brothers, who grab the top spot on the HITS Album Sales chart for the second week in a row.

The talented trio follow up last week’s 525k, the year’s third-largest debut, with 153k, for a two-week total that has them on the road to platinum.

Atlantic’s Kid Rock continues to heat up “All Summer Long,” climbing to #2 with another 100k.

Labelmates Staind’s Illusion of Progress is the week’s top debut at #3, with 92k in sales, just ahead of Decca’s Mamma Mia! soundtrack, the summer’s dark-horse hit.

Lench Mob’s Ice Cube album, Raw Footage, another chart newcomer, rounds out the Top 5 with 69k for the The Firm-managed rap icon.

Hollywood’s Miley Cyrus (#6), Mercury Nashville’s Sugarland (#7), Cash Money/Universal Motown’s Lil Wayne (#8) and Disney’s Camp Rock soundtrack (#9) are all Top 10 holdovers, with Suretone’s debuting Shwayze entering the chart at #10.

Disney’s Cheetah Girls (#13), Fueled by Ramen’s The Academy Is… (#15), Roadrunner’s Black Stone Cherry (#30), Def Jam/IDJ’s Karina (#45) and Kirtland’s The Toadies (#50) all debut in the Top 50, while Arista/RMG’s Carrie Underwood (#34), MCA Nashville’s George Strait (#40) and Columbia’s Three 6 Mafia (#46) all re-enter the chart this week.

Atlantic’s resurgent Jason Mraz is the week’s only double-digit gainer, moving #24-21, +17%. Others in the black include Capitol’s Katy Perry (#14, +4%), Provident/Reunion’s Third Day (#27, +5%) and Interscope’s M.I.A. (#44-38, +4%), fueled by the hit single, “Paper Planes,” which has been getting great exposure on a TV spot for Pineapple Express.
