GRAY SKIES TO NEW SVP PROMO POST AT RCA
Veteran Promo Domo Upped from VP, Reporting to Palmese
We told you Peter Gray's skies were about to turn blue, and so they have.

The veteran promo domo has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Pop Promotion for RCA Music Group, where he will oversee all pop radio formats.

Previously, he served as the label group’s VP Top 40 Promotion. Gray will continue to report to RCA Music Group EVP Promotion Richard Palmese at the company’s New York headquarters.

Gray joined the RCA Music Group in 2002 as Senior Director, Top 40 Promotion and was elevated to VP in 2004 and relocated from L.A. to New York the following year.

During his tenure, Gray has been instrumental in the radio campaigns and chart positions for Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, David Cook, Alicia Keys, Gavin DeGraw, Leona Lewis and Jamie Foxx, among others. He has led the field staff and worked closely with the senior executive staff and artist management to ensure strategic and focused direction of all Top 40 radio campaigns.

Commented Palmese: “Peter is truly an exceptional individual, an inspiring music executive, and a good friend. His passion for music is complemented by his outstanding commitment to winning. Peter has distinguished himself as a leader in the RCA Music Group fold and has earned the complete admiration and respect of his peers. He is as intelligent as he is inspiring, and I am thrilled to now have Peter working alongside of me implementing and directing our promotion campaigns within all pop formats. This is an exciting moment for both Peter and the RMG family. Now let's see what he can do for Susan Boyle.”

Added Gray: “I'm very fortunate and excited about my continued growth with the best team in the music business. I must extend my utmost gratitude to Richard Palmese for sharing his unrivaled expertise and guidance. I would also like to thank Barry Weiss and Tom Corson for providing me the opportunity to expand my role at the RCA Music Group. Now when do I get to meet Bob Buziak?”
