JONAS BROS LOOKING FOR WHALE OF A DEBUT

Soundtrack to 3-D Concert Film Opening Friday Appears in 80-100k Range
The Jonas Brothers get all multi-media on their legion of fans this week.
With The 3-D Concert Experience hitting theaters this Friday, the Hollywood Records soundtrack is expected to debut #1 on the HITS Album chart for the teenpop trio, who received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist this year.
At presstime, according to one-day sales reports from those retailers who could tear themselves away from yesterday's rivetting Senate subcommittee hearing on the Live Nation-Ticketmaster merger, the album is headed for the 80-100k range, depending on how much of an effect the movie opening has. The Jonases (Jonii?) could well top both the movie box office and album charts next week.
The bruddas' latest release, A Little Bit Longer—their second for Hollywood and a follow-up to the 1.4 million-selling Jonas Brothers—also topped the HITS album chart shortly after its August release and has sold close to 1.5 million copies to date.

The week's next-best chart bow will be Epic's Richmond, VA, thrash-metal screamers Lamb of God, who return with Wrath, their sixth album, which looks like a Top 10 lock at 50-55k, and maybe even higher than that.
RCA Nashville Grammy-nominated country-rocker Jake Owen's sophomore album, Easy Does It, is the follow-up to his debut, 2006's Startin' With Me. First-week sales estimates are between 25-28k, and how's that for fine-tuning?
A&M/Octone head James Diener's latest artist development project, K'Naan, a hybrid Somali-Canadian rap-reggae poet/MC, releases his sophomore album (and label bow), Troubadour, after his Juno Award-winning debut, The Dusty Foot Philosopher. Look for between 10-15k in first-week sales.
Final chart newcomer of the week should be Reprise's veteran popabilly crooner and sometime cable TV star Chris Isaak, whose new album, Mr. Lucky, is on target for between 12-15k

The market was down 13% this week, down 7% vs. the same week last year and still down 12% year to date. Time to settle down and give the chimp another Xanax, folks.
