BREAKING NEWS:
MEET THE NEW BOSS

Roger Ames Named Head of EMI North America
EMI chief Eric Nicoli sent out the following release this morning, confirming months of speculation that Roger Ames would play a major role in the British company's new corporate architecture. The announcement also contained EMI's new N.A. organizational chart, with CMG's Jason Flom, Blue Note Label Group's Bruce Lundvall, EMM's Ron Werre, Capitol Nashville's Mike Dungan and Caroline's Bill Hein among the division heads who will report to Ames.

Since the removal of the previous N.A. head David Munns in January, the ranking executive on this side of the pond had been COO Ivan Gavin.

Dear all,

Following our major reorganisation in January, I am very pleased to announce that Roger Ames will assume responsibility for EMI Music North America with immediate effect. Roger is a very well regarded music executive with extensive US experience and I am convinced that Roger’s leadership and guidance is exactly what our North American Music business needs right now.

As a result of this reorganisation Ivan Gavin will shortly be leaving the Company, and he does so with our thanks and very best wishes.

The new reporting structure is set out below: we will shortly be announcing the appointment of the NA Head of Digital with Jay Pomeroy and Rachna Bhasin reporting directly into this new Head of Digital position.

Please join me in wishing Roger well in his new assignment and in thanking Ivan for his services to the Company.

Eric Nicoli
