Veteran Exec Moves to VH1 as Sr. VP Music & Talent Development
Dix is in the mix at VH1.

Michele Megan Dix has been tapped to take on the newly created position of Sr. Vice President, Music & Talent Development at the network, where she will share an office with Flavor Flav, Brigitte Nielsen, Verne Troyer, Charo and Jane Wiedlin. She will also contribute to the MTV Networks Music Group development process, where she will help produce new music franchises and projects for CMT, MTV and MTV2.

The promotion was announced by newly named VH1 EVP Original Programming and Production Michael Hirschorn and MTV Networks Music Group President of Entertainment Brian Graden. She will remain based in New York City.

Dix will work with Hirschorn’s development team to augment VH1’s "Celebreality" programming strategy and to calm Jeff Conway down on the Celebrity Fit Club set.

“Michele’s experience in the world of music and talent development are unparalleled,” said Mr. Hirschorn. “She’s proven time and time again how to connect the right artist with the right creative platform in a way that produces fresh and imaginative programming. She’s a perfect fit for VH1 as we ramp up our efforts to develop series franchises around music talent. Plus, anyone who had anything to do with Wondershowzen is always welcome here. Even if I prefer Sesame Street myself."

She'll also report to Graden in her group role, working with the respective personalities of VH1, CMT, MTV and MTV2.

“Michele’s always bursting with ideas and has been instrumental in some of our biggest hits on MTV and MTV2,” said Mr. Graden. “As we move forward with introducing new content on all platforms, her knack for identifying trends in music and up-and-coming talent will be that much more vital to our creative development process. And she's in therapy with Danny Bonaduce, which we're going to turn into a new reality show.”

Ms. Dix has co-created such memorable specials and series with development partner, VP of MTV Music & Talent Development Jesse Ignjatovic, as mtvICON, Life & Rhymes, MTV’s Ultimate Mash-Ups and Snoop Dogg’s Doggy Fizzle Televizzle. The two also co-developed MTV2’s wildly successful Wondershowzen, and for MTV, the upcoming series Call to Greatness and a new program featuring Epic recording artist Cheyenne.

Additionally, Ms. Dix, created the 24 Hours franchise for MTV2, hosted most memorably by Courtney Love and the Foo Fighters. She has also served as a senior creative executive for the MTV Video Music Awards. Ms. Dix joined MTV in 1995 as Director of Music Talent and was promoted to VP, Music and Talent Programming in 1996.

In 2000, along with Ignjatovic, Ms. Dix took on the role of Music and Talent Development.
