300 Leads With Five Nominations, Followed by Pirates, Borat, Blades of Glory, Devil Wears Prada
300 leads the pack.

The 2007 MTV Movie Award nominees were announced today, and 300, with five nominations, including Best Movie, is ahead of the field.

The rotoscoped live action film, the year’s most successful grosser so far, was followed closely by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest with four nods. Also vying for the “Golden Popcorn” statuette are Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Blades of Glory and The Devil Wears Prada, with three nominations each.

The 16th annual awards show will be executive produced for the first time by Emmy Award-winning Survivor creator, producer Mark Burnett, and broadcast live, for the first time, from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA, on Sunday, June 3 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Sarah Silverman will host the show. Fans can vote for their favorite nominees in each category by visiting MovieAwards.MTV.com before May 29. Viewers can also vote from their mobile phones by texting “MOVIES” to 22422 or by dialing toll free to 1-877-MTV-VOTE.

“This year's star-studded show will be live, and inspired by all the new ways our audience experiences the movies,” said MTV President Christina Norman. “From texting their vote for 'Best Fight,' to uploading their own original movie spoofs, to posting photos online, fans are just a click away from being in the spotlight in this year's celebration of the movies and stars they love.”
