In his new gig, Lowenberg will oversee all of
Said Bartels in making the announcement: “We are excited for Adam to begin his new role at IDJ. We are looking forward to his marketing expertise, energy and dedication to the great music and artists we are set to launch. Additionally, he promised to introduce me to Eve.”
“It is so exciting to be a part of the Island Def Jam Family and to have the opportunity to work along side LA Reid and Steve Bartels again,” Lowenberg enthused. “I look forward to contributing to the continued success of IDJ. Is this where I’m supposed to make a joke about hoping to locate Chris Blackwell’s stash?”
Lowenberg comes to IDJ from Virgin Records, where he was Senior Vice President Marketing since 2005. Prior to that, he served as Vice President Marketing for Arista Records, where he was named Executive of the Year in 2001.
He began his career in music in 1990 as an assistant in the Marketing Department of Chrysalis Records. In 1992, Lowenberg joined EMI Records as Marketing Coordinator, advancing to Manager of Sales in 1994, moving to Product Manager a year later. He joined Arista in 1997 as Associate Director Marketing, and was promoted the following year to Director, a post he held until his promotion to Vice President. Lowenberg graduated from
