Hilary Duff Leads Six Newcomers in Top 10
Thank the Lord for Easter.

The holiday managed to resurrect record sales for the week, as EMI’s Now 24 tops the charts at 218k, trailed by last week’s #1, Curb’s Tim McGraw at #2, with 177k.

The week’s biggest debut is Hollywood’s Hilary Duff, carrying herself with Dignity after a #3 bow, chalking up 144k, one of five newcomers to the Top 10.

Among the other debuts, Interscope’s Timbland is up next at #4, with SBMG Nashville’s Martina McBride (#5), Atlantic rapper Paul Wall (#8) and Rounder/IDJ’s Alison Krauss (#10).

Beyonce's new, expanded version of her Columbia album, B'day, returns to the Top 10 at #6, thanks to her hit duet with Shakira.

Holdovers include RCA’s Daughtry (#7) and SRC/Universal Motown’s Akon (#9).

Other chart newcomers are MCA Nashville’s Alan Jackson, George Strait & Jimmy Buffett album, Live at Texas Stadium (#11), Epic’s Chevelle (#13), WB’s Larry the Cable Guy (#14), RCA’s Kings of Leon (#26), Atlantic’s The Acaemuy Is… (#31), WB’s Static X (#38), Virgin’s The Almost (#40) and Atlantic’s Shadows Fall (#49).

And now the industry waits the next batch of hot new releases on April 24, which includes Arista’s Avril Lavigne, Interscope’s Nine Inch Nails, Def Jam’s Young Jeezy and Interscope’s Bone Thugs N Harmony.
