All I gotta say is, Halle Berry looks mighty sexy in this one—which is all the motivation I need to see it.

JE-C’S NEW-MOVIE RUNDOWN

Disturbia
Starring:
Shia LaBeouf, Sarah Roemer, Carrie-Anne Moss, David Morse, Aaron Yoo
Synopsis:
Distressed by his father's untimely death, a teenager begins acting out and soon finds himself under house arrest after getting into trouble one too many times. To help pass the time stuck indoors, he begins spying on his neighbors, only to become convinced that the guy living across the street is killing young women.
Thoughts: I’m on the fence about this movie—part of me thinks it’s gonna be stupid and bad, part of me thinks it could be really good and surprise a lot of people. Either way, I’ll most likely find myself there on opening night.

Perfect Stranger
Starring:
Halle Berry, Bruce Willis, Giovanni Ribisi, Gary Dourdan, Patti D'Arbanville, Clea Lewis
Synopsis:
Desperate to solve the bizarre murder of a childhood friend, an undercover reporter creates several online aliases to lull the killer out of hiding. With her new identities in place, the nosy newswoman's Internet snooping leads her straight to the powerful CEO of a major advertising agency.
Thoughts:
All I gotta say is, Halle Berry looks mighty sexy in this one—which is all the motivation I need to see it. Plus, it has a really good cast.

Also Opening this week:
Year of the Dog:
Starring Molly Shannon; from the mind of Mike White.

JE-C’S RANT OF THE WEEK
Ok, so here is what is bugging me: Sanjaya!! I understand why people are fascinated with him and how it’s a ploy to ruin American Idol, but there are some really talented people on the show this season, as there were last year, who seem to get overlooked. I thought the point of the show was finding the most talented singer, rather than running a popularity contest—but that’s what it has become. I mean, last year, Taylor Hicks won it over Daughtry and Katharine McPhee, and it seemed obvious to most that Daughtry was the best, and he’s proved it with his record sales, Taylor has pretty much disappeared. I got so annoyed by Sanjaya still being on the show that I booted it off my TiVo. If It were really about talent, to me, the obvious choice this year would be Jordan Sparks. The reason I say this is because she’s young, pretty and has just as strong a voice as Melinda and Lakisha, both of whom appear to be one-trick ponies. I find most of the other contestants to be dull and boring. If you strongly disagree with me, please email me at [email protected], because I’d like to see the Planner become more interactive with its readers.
