LENNY: which will get to #1 quicker.... arctic monkeys or hoobastank?

IVANA: hooba first, then arctic monkeys. hooba is an automatic.

LENNY: ok, that seems fair, as long as they both get to #1 there will be order in the world
THE IVANA & LENNY SHOW:
A GRAMMY EVE CORRESPONDENCE
The Kooky Kouple Shot Airballs on Their Grammy Faves, but That Figures—They Were Up to Their Earlobes in PoMo’s Super Tuesday
IVANA: why is everybody in town? is it the gavin convention already? when didya get in? whereya staying?
LENNY: gavin? isn't bill still dead?
IVANA: that was the rumor. so who is going to win the grammys?
LENNY: LA Reid, as usual
IVANA: that's for sure! i would be thrilled if arcade fire win one or two
LENNY: that would be surprising
IVANA: that i'd be thrilled? ok, i have an announcement to make
LENNY: ok... announce away
IVANA: as of tomorrow i will no longer be reporting my adds
LENNY: then, we will have to suspend you
IVANA: by what?
LENNY: by what or from what?
IVANA: neck? thumbs? feet?
LENNY: earlobes
IVANA: ok, then from what?
LENNY: from writing this lame column with too many words and causing your reader to have to go buy those glasses that make things look bigger. now i have a question
IVANA: ok
LENNY: which will get to #1 quicker.... arctic monkeys or hoobastank?
IVANA: hooba first, then arctic monkeys. hooba is an automatic.
LENNY: ok, that seems fair, as long as they both get to #1 there will be order in the world
IVANA: tomorrow is pomo's version of super tuesday
LENNY: is hawthorne heights closed yet? whatta smash that is
IVANA: in addition to the new genius hoobastank single, "if i were you" being made available, new music is also arriving from yeah yeah yeahs, rob zombie and godsmack. hawthorne is already top 30, so it's on its way
LENNY: those are all good, i think, i haven't heard the yeahs yet
IVANA: and the kt tunstall cd is finally out tomorrow. her show at the troubadour was AMAZING
LENNY: hooray, whatta smash that is.... i wonder if any of the PoMo geniuses will play her
IVANA: I even stayed 'til the end! pomo radio should play "black horse and the cherry tree."
LENNY: i agree, that song is awesome
IVANA: oh, the new morrissey is being sent to radio tomorrow as well! It's called "you have killed me"--it's great
LENNY: so, there appears to be a lot of good new music these days, finally! cause after ill divo and barry manilow topping the album charts, it's time for the rockers to get their pieces of the pie
IVANA: Is there a tv show manilow hasn’t been on this week?
LENNY: yes
IVANA: csi: manilow?
LENNY: he was not on the clippers game
IVANA: not sure that's his demo. but everywhere else. truth be told, i want to see his show in vegas?
LENNY: are you a fanilow?
IVANA: who isn't?
LENNY: it appears everyone is. personally, i like the yellowcard album better
IVANA: nice to see "lights and sounds" in the pomo top 10. great job, ted
LENNY: ted is on fire with yellowcard, morningwood and the hurt project. and his beloved clippers, of course
IVANA: and don't forget coldplay
LENNY: oops, and his beloved coldplay
IVANA: what do you make of radio groups not reporting adds?
LENNY: i think it is a whole lotta todo about nothing.... spins are what matter
IVANA: and hot reports. and “breaker”
LENNY: and getting at least ten adds a week’oh yeah, that was a different time and a different place
IVANA: gotta have a double-digit add week
LENNY: is charlie minor still dead?
IVANA: ask bill gavin. i hope radio likes arctic monkeys
LENNY: monster giant superheavyweight smash
IVANA: the upcoming march tour is already beyond sold out. domino is shipping over 100k of the cd. already added in most major markets. big phones in boston, sf, etc.
LENNY: hawthorne heights and arctic monkeys should challenge interpol's record for highest charting indie song ever
IVANA: good point. hawthorne will get there first and then arctic monkeys
LENNY: they should both beat the record
IVANA: i also adore the lashes record on red. and the new matisyahu single is the song of the year
LENNY: easy..... that crown is for hoobas
IVANA: in terms of a zeitgeist moment, matis has the edge. in terms of multiformat mega-ness, hooba has it
LENNY: if i were you, i'd end this column now
IVANA: you need to hear these records: elefant, calexico, matt pond pa. i'll be listening to the genesis bootlegs michael caplan loaned me
LENNY: and i also want to meet the new supermega ms. saturn, sister of jacqueline
IVANA:
will you be at the sony party?
LENNY: only if it is happening at the staples center during a clippers game. say goodnight, gracie
IVANA: good night, gracie.
