Show highlights included Stevie Wonder and Lenny Kravitz joining Alicia Keys onstage to perform “If I Ain’t Got You” (for which Keys won Best R&B video) and "Higher Ground," as well as live video links to both the Bush and Kerry daughters, who were each booed.

MTV VMAs: JAY-Z, OUTKAST HAVE MIAMI HEAT

Each are the Night’s Big Winners with Four Moonmen Each
Rap superstar Jay-Z walked away with four Moonmen at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, broadcast live from the American Airlines Arena in Miami.

Given that Jay-Z walked into the evening with the most nominations, that kinda made sense. And his wins for “99 Problems,” which included Best Rap Video, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Cinematography looked dominant.

But then OutKast also scored four awards for “Hey Ya!” in the Best Video, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Special Effects and Best Art Direction categories, putting the Atlanta duo on an equal footing with the rapper, Moonman-wise.

No Doubt scored a double win, the next-highest multiple after the above, winning Best Group Video and Best Pop Video for “It’s My Life.” Usher also nabbed a double in Best Male Video and Best Dance Video for “Yeah!,” featuring Lil’ Jon and Ludacris.

Beyoncé won Best Female Video for “Naughty Girl" and Jet scored Best Rock Video for “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” while Maroon 5's "This Love" won Best New Artist in a Video That Doesn't Have "Girl" in the Title.

The VMAs’ first time in Miami included arrivals to the red carpet by means of yachts and other assorted watercraft. Several attendees wore P. Diddy’s “Vote or Die” T-shirts, part of his “Citizen Change” campaign that got him nixed from a photo op with Laura Bush last week.

For photos of Diddy’s Mohawk, the Black Eyed Peas’ Vespas, or Paris Hilton’s kooky bed o’ kelp number, please tune to MTV.com. In the meantime, here’s the complete list of VMA winners:
