CHART PREVIEW: HILLBILLIES TOP HILARY, BUT HOLLYWOOD WINS

Not One, But Two Albums Take Disney Label to New Sales Heights
Flatts and Duff.

No, that's not the name of a new bluegrass act, but the top two finishers on tomorrow's sales chart, both distributed by Disney's Hollywood Records, by the way.

Indeed, as the tallying of sales reports continues, country hunks Rascal Flatts' Feels Like Today (Lyric Street/Hollywood), on track to sell more than 2000k, looks like it will edge Duff’s Hilary Duff (Hollywood/Buena Vista), which is approaching 200k. Those numbers will see them debut 1-2 on this week’s album chart—a first for Disney’s Hollywood Records.

The next-highest chart debut this week will be The Used’s In Love & Death (Reprise), which at this point looks like it will come in at about 110-115k, followed by Ciara’s Goodies (LaFace/ZLG), which is looking like 100k.

Following those two are Shawnna’s Worth the Weight (Def Jam), which should come in at about 80k-90k, Talib Kweli’s Beautiful Struggle (Geffen), on track to log a first week of 70k-80k, and Joss Stone’s Mind, Body & Soul (S-Curve/EMC), looking like 60k-70k.

But wait, there’s more: Like Stone, Interpol’s Antics (Matador) should come on the chart with a first-week tally of 60k-70k, while Marilyn Manson’s Lest We Forget greatest-hits package (Interscope) continues to look like 60k. Brian Wilson’s Smile (Nonesuch), meanwhile, should do around 50k-60k.

The week’s biggest albums set for release tomorrow include Good Charlotte’s The Chronicles of Life and Death (Epic), which early guesses have pegged at around 350k-400k, and George Strait’s 50 Number Ones (MCA Nashville), which predictors predict will do a first week of around 200k.
