NAB TAP MARCONI WINNERS
WABC N.Y., KGO S.F., WSTR Atlanta Among the Honorees
The winners of the 2003 National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Awards were announced last night at the org's annual dinner and show, held this year in Philadelphia.

The prestigious awards recognized radio's outstanding personalities and stations in 19 categories. An independent task force selected the finalists and ballots were sent to members of the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy in mid-August.

Comic Steve Harvey, host of Radio One's KKBT morning show, MCed the event and the show featured a performance by the NAB broadcaster band, The Formats. Produced by Jefferson-Pilot Radio President Clarke Brown, the band featured Brown, ABC Radio's Mitch Dolan and Premiere Radio Networks' Gary Krantz on guitar; Urban Radio Broadcasting's Kevin Wagner and Coastal Broadcasting's Bob Maschio on drums; Converge Media's John Martin on harmonica; Susquehanna's Norm Philips and Radio One's Jim Guinn on bass guitar; The Wall Street Journal Radio Network's Ed Coury and Atlantic Records' Danny Buch on keyboard; Regent Communications' Fred Murr, Bonneville's Bruce Reese, R&R's Erica Farber and Hotchkiss Marketing Solutions' Dan Hotchkiss on vocals. Former Saturday Night Live bandleader G.E. Smith served as the musical director and bandleader.
