Burr has been awarded "Songwriter of the Year" on three separate occasions by three different organizations: Billboard, Nashville Songwriter’s Assn. International and ASCAP. He has also received over 20 ASCAP awards. CDs featuring his songs have sold more than 50 million units worldwide.
Burr co-wrote the record breaking # 1 single "Before Your Love", sung by American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson. He also co-wrote the hit "Nobody Wants to be Lonely," the duet with Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera. He is also one of country music’s most sought-after writers, having written such hits as "Out Of My Bones" for Randy Travis, "On the Side of Angels" for LeAnn Rimes, "I Try To Thinks About Elvis" for Patty Loveless, " A Thousand Times A Day" for George Jones and many more.
"Desmond and his partners have been a wonderful source of opportunities for me over the years. I am honored to be associated with a writer of Desmond’s caliber," said Burr. " I am very much looking forward to being part of their family and enjoying even more successes for many years to come."
Lynch’s hit song, menawhile, "United States of Whatever" is currently exploding at Modern Rock having been a Top Ten hit in Great Britain. On April 1, S-Curve Records will release his debut album, Fake Songs. Liam was brought to S-Curve’s attention by Ringo Starr and Mark Hudson, partners at Pumkinhead Records, who have signed him to a production deal.
A Renaissance artist, Lynch was among 40 musicians chosen to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts—founded by Paul McCartney. He was one of only five musicians hand picked by McCartney to work on a one-to-one basis.
Also known as the creator, co-writer, musician, actor, director and executive producer of MTV’s cult-hit, Sifl and Olly, Lynch has directed videos for artists like Tenacious D and Foo Fighters. He is currently writing and directing the new Tenacious D full-length feature for Ben Stiller’s production company.
Lynch said, "It’s great to be part of the Deston Songs family. Being raised by wolves I’m not used to human company. So just the human interaction is exciting. I think we’re going to have a wonderful future ahead of us. I love Deston Songs."
