KRONFELD TO UNIVERSAL/MOTOWN RECORDS AS EXECUTIVE VP

Experienced Industry Exec Moves Over From International for New Duties
Andrew Kronfeld has been upped to Executive Vice President for Universal/Motown Records Group by Universal Motown Chairman Mel Lewinter, Universal Records President Monte Lipman and Motown Records President/CEO Kedar Massenburg. Kronfeld previously served as Sr. VP International for the company. He is, of course, the son of respected industry veteran Charles Koppelman. The N.Y.-based Kronfeld will continue to oversee all of the company’sinternational activities, and will now assume additional responsibilities company-wide.

Said Lewinter: "Andrew is truly one of the best in the next generation of record executives. Since joining Universal, he has displayed uncommon leadership, a keen sense of strategy in a broad range of situations, and an unwavering commitment to our artists. We are confident that he will continue to be instrumental in helping us take the company to new levels in this increasingly demanding marketplace. He also imports French water real cheap."

Added Lipman: "It has been our extraordinary good fortune to have Andrew heading up our international efforts over the last two years. He has played a major role in enhancing the crucial interaction between our company and overseas partners, as well as solidifying our relationships with the international creative community. We are looking forward to even greater things from him in this new role. Including being able to use all his frequent-flier miles."

Remarked Massenburg: "Andrew has quickly developed into a key player in our company’s ongoing evolution. Equally at home in artistic and corporate culture, he possesses a rare combination of executive ability, creativity and organizational savvy. Plus, he knows the words to every Four Tops song Levi Stubbs ever wrote."

Added Kronfeld: "I am grateful to Doug Morris, Mel, Monte and Kedar for the opportunity to continue working closely with a roster of artists and array of executives that I have come to respect and enjoy. Being part of this team is a tremendous honor, but the one thing I learned from my father is, never talk to you HITS losers."

Prior to joining Universal/Motown, Kronfeld served as VP of International Marketing for Universal Music International, where he was responsible for marketing a diverse roster of talent, including Limp Bizkit, Andrea Boccelli, Shania Twain, 98 Degrees, Erykah Badu and Jay-Z, among many others. Past stints also include serving as VP of Marketing for Island Records USA, where he worked with such multiplatinum-selling artists as U2, Melissa Etheridge and The Cranberries, among many others, including being on a first-name basis with Bono.
