Duking it out for #2 will most likely be Avril Lavigne’s Let Go and the Chicago soundtrack, both of which appear headed for tallies in the neighborhood of 90k, possibly edging toward 100k.
WEEK IN PREVIEW: KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES
Fourth Week at #1 in the Cards for
Understated Upstart
At this point, Blue Note’s little album that could can only be called the Norah Jones phenomenon, as perhaps the mellowest record ever to hold at the top of the album chart for three weeks appears headed for a fourth.

That’s right: Jones’ Come Away with Me looks likely to enjoy yet another week on top, according to early blind guesses, er, scientific extrapolation of available data. Prognosticators expect that Jones will come in at around 110k for the week, which in the current down market (even for January) will make it an easy #1.

Duking it out for #2 will most likely be Avril Lavigne’s Let Go (Arista) and the Chicago soundtrack (Epic), both of which appear headed for tallies in the neighborhood of 90k, possibly edging toward 100k.

At radio, look for O-town, No Doubt, and Missy Elliott to bring home the most Pop adds, with cleanup continuing on Ja Rule’s "Mesmerize" (Murder Inc./IDJ), Celine Dion’s "I Drove All Night" (Epic), Bowling for Soup’s "Girl All the Bad Guys Want" (Silvertone/Jive) and Boomkat’s "Wreckoning" (DreamWorks).

Making their mark at Crossover will be Jay-Z’s "Excuse Me, Miss" (Roc-a-Fella/IDJ), followed by Marques Houston’s, "That Girl" (A&M/Interscope). Meanwhile, cleanup will continue on Ginuwine’s, "Hell Yeah" (Epic) and Snoop Dogg’s, "Beautiful" (Priority), as activity builds on Sean Paul’s new single, "Get Busy" (VP/Atlantic).

In the Post Modern/Rock arena, look for The Used, "Buried Myself Alive" (Reprise) and Chevelle, "Send the Pain Below" (Epic) to score the heaviest add action, while buzz builds on the new one from Godsmack, "Straight Out of Line" (Republic/Universal), going for adds next week.
