While it is extremely difficult to leave my friends at Clear Channel, I have been given an amazing opportunity with AEG, which is making a strong, positive impression on the music in-dustry as a whole."

SAY IT AIN’T SO, JOE

Anschutz Snaps Up Clear Channel Ent.’s
Man in St. Louis, Joe Litvag
Clear Channel Entertainment St. Louis VP Joe "American" Litvag is going over to the other side. Litvag, who has spent the last 10 years with CCE, will take the post of Vice President Midwest Operations with Anschutz Entertainment Group out of a newly opened office in St. Louis, his hometown.

“The last 10 years have been an amazing experience for me at CCE,” said Litvag in a press release he disseminated himself via email. “I have watched it evolve from Contemporary Productions to SFX Entertainment to Clear Channel Entertainment, and I have been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to grow into something that my mentors can be proud of.”

Litvag, who’s just 33, started his career in 1993 as an intern at what was then known as Contemporary Productions, moving to the concert division three years later as a club talent buyer. When SFX bought Contemporary in 1998 and was itself acquired by Clear Channel Communications in 2000, Litvag stayed on, becoming a VP and focusing on St. Louis venues the Pageant Concert Nightclub and UMB Bank Pavilion, as well as the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Kansas City.

“While it is extremely difficult to leave my friends at Clear Channel,” Litvag explained, “I have been given an amazing opportunity with AEG, which is a company that is making a strong, positive impression on the music industry as a whole. It’s time to start a new chapter in my professional life, and AEG is giving me that chance. I only wish the best for everyone at CCE. They are my friends, and I will miss them all tremendously.”

Luring the up-and-coming Litvag represents another win for AEG in its battle with CCE. The company’s concerts division, AEG Live/Concerts West, is rapidly becoming a serious rival to the the preeminent concert operation, locking up several of this summer’s biggest tours, including Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles and Justin Timberlake/Christina Aguilera.
