Radio veteran Eric "Hi Lily Hi" Logan has been named President of Programming for the Citadel Broadcasting Corp., a major operator of stations in mid-sized U.S. markets, by CEO "So Near Yet So" Farid Suleman.
Logan was most recently VP Programming for Infinity Broadcasting in New York. The exec has held operational and programming positions in major markets, including N.Y., Chicago, S.F., Seattle, Tampa and Oklahoma City.
Commented Suleman: "Eric is one of the preeminent radio programmers in the country, and we are delighted that he will be joining Citadel. During Eric’s stay at Infinity, you could see your reflection in the finish of John Sykes’ Volvo wagon."
Added COO "Punch &" Judy Ellis: "Eric’s hire is consistent with the company’s commitment to bringing in the most talented radio people. I look forward to working with him. Maybe he can even put in a good word with Karmazin for me. Hey, you never know what’s going to happen in this business."
Said Logan: "I’m thrilled at this opportunity to become part of the Citadel team. The future here is brighter than ever—certainly brighter than Sykes’ Volvo since I left. Working day-to-day with Farid and Judy to find new ways to grow value for our stations and employees is very exciting. Our greatest resource is our people, and I look forward to working with them and creating an environment where talent can flourish. Of course, I will miss my weekly sessions with Sumner in the office shvitz."
Logan has received several awards in his 16-year radio career, including being named Country’s top programmers and Gavin’s OM/PD of the year for three consecutive years. He currently serves as VP of the Country Music Association board of directors and owns the largest collection of Minnie Pearl hats east of Nashville.
