Brandy’s a fine girl, all right. After coming out as a young R&B/Pop phenom in ’94, she just turned around and starred in a hit sitcom. Wish we could do that, but we’re funny "weird," not funny "ha-ha."
Anyway, Brandy’s third album streeted Tuesday, and according to early reports from national accounts (we love saying that), her Full Moon (Atlantic) looks like it will clear a solid 150k by the end of the week. That will almost certainly secure a Top Five chart debut for the Brandster, who's now 23, married and preggers. And depending what happens with this week’s Grammy-stoked chart-toppers, it could put her in contention for #1.
This week’s Top Five, of course, was all about the #1 Alanis and #3 Kylie Minogue debuts, with Grammy winners O Brother at #2 and Alicia Keys at #4, with a little band called Linkin Park (Warner Bros.) thrown in for good measure. That’s excellent company to be in, as is Brandy herself. We, of course, being cesspool scum, are good company to avoid. Thank you.
