Third Time's a Charm for Aftermath/Interscope Superstar Rapper
If you enjoyed the Lakers’ dismantling the Nets or Lennox Lewis’ demolition of Mike Tyson, then this week’s Top 50 chart is for you.

In his third straight week at the top of the heap, Aftermath/Interscope hip-hop hero Eminem once again trounced the opposition, selling over six times more than the next album, WMG/BMG’s Totally Hits 2002, one of four newcomers in the Top 10, which debuts this week at #2.

HMV’s Jeff Davidson consulted his highly paid speechwriter and offered: "Eminem continues to show some real sales muscle—it’s easily the biggest record of the year—but Totally Hits 2002 is also having a very good week for Warners’ new WSM group. It’s become a very reliable brand."

L.A. Reid’s Arista Records scored a pair of Top 10 debuts in Donell Jones at #4 and promising young diva Avril Lavigne, who came in at #8.

Capitol’s Dirty Vegas motored to a #6 bow, with Pop radio closing quickly behind the Mitsubishi spot.

Added Davidson: "Arista had a really good week with Donell Jones and Avril Lavigne, while Capitol seems to have taken full advantage of the lead in for Dirty Vegas they’re getting from the TV commercial." The man’s a master of the obvious.

The Top 10 is rounded out by a third Arista entry in Bad Boy’s P. Diddy (#3), Murder Inc./IDJ’s Ashanti (#5), BNA’s Kenny Chesney (#7) A&M/Interscope’s Sheryl Crow (#9) and Columbia/CRG’s Marc Anthony (#10).

And how about Blue Note’s Norah Jones? The rookie phenom continues her roll, moving another 40k while living large at APM and making a move at the Hot and Modern Adult formats.

Next week, it’s Epic’s turn to harvest the new Korn record and check out the memories in The Osbourne Family Album.
