PLEN OUT AT VIRGIN

Veteran Exec Exits After 16 Years
Longtime Virgin Promotion Chief Michael Plen has left the company.

After 16 years at Virgin, Plen has exited the company to pursue other challenges.

In a music-industry career spanning 25 years, Plen also worked seven years at IRS Records and three years at A&M.

While at Virgin, Plen was a fixture having served such label chiefs as Nancy Berry, Jeff Ayeroff and Jordan Harris, Phil Quartararo, Ashley Newton and Ray Cooper and Matt Serletic and Roy Lott.

Plen helped in the development of such artists as Lenny Kravitz, Tina Turner, the Rolling Stones, Paula Abdul, Gorillaz, Janet Jackson, David Bowie and many others.

In April, Virgin named longtime Epic Records promo diva Hilary Shaev to head Virgin’s promotion staff, placing in doubt Plen’s future at the company.

Plen can be reached at 310-457-6928, 310-457-6388 or (cell) 310-435-1812; e-mail: [email protected]; IM: [email protected].
