WEEK IN PREVIEW:
IRV’S GOTTI TOP FIVE

Rappers Eminem, Nelly Battle for # 1
In a week where Fo’ Reel/Universal’s Nelly is again battling it out for #1 with Aftermath/Interscope’s Eminem, the highest debut looks like it will belong to Murder Inc/IDJ’s Irv Gotti Presents…The Inc., which is a lock for the Top Five.

Meanwhile, Columbia’s Aerosmith is another Top Five contender with a greatest-hits package that includes two new tracks. Other new releases cracking the Top 50 include Epic’s Oasis, So So Def/Columbia’s Like Mike soundtrack, a Green Day b-sides set, RCA’s Mr. Deeds soundtrack and J RecordsUltimate Dance compilation.

If that ain’t enough to make you forget about your Enron, Worldcom, Vivendi and AOLTW stock portfolio, check out what the brain surgeons at Top 40 are up to this week…and luckily for them it doesn’t mean walking and chewing gum simultaneously.

Maverick’s Michelle Branch appears poised to receive the most Top 40 love, as her third single enjoys its first week in play. Also bathing in adds this week is the new Eve single featuring Alicia Keys, while the aforementioned Nelly enjoys some "unofficial" action on his cut with Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland. Also look for solid action on IDJ’s U.K. sensation Daniel Bedingfield.

in a related story, Edgar & Johnny Winter have joined Michael Jackson in condemning the racist practices of the music industry. Tape at 11.
