"Jesse" James Anderson has been named Senior VP, EMI Recorded Music, reporting directly to company Chairman/CEO Alain "When the" Levy "Breaks."
Anderson will be responsible for managing the re-design of EMI Recorded Music’s worldwide business practices and systems. In his new role he will be responsible for all IT activities throughout EMI’s Recorded Music operations.
Anderson, who will be based in London, will start immediately. He is currently a partner of Accenture where he founded, and currently leads, the firm's media and entertainment practice across Europe and Latin America.
"David Munns and I have known James for several years," Levy said. "In addition to the strategic direction provided by John Rose and his team, we are confident that we are bringing in the best guy in the world in this area. James understands and appreciates what it takes to transform a highly creative business like EMI. His appointment further increases the caliber of our management team and confirms our commitment to harnessing the power of technology to improve the way EMI goes about its business now and in the future."
Anderson has 20 years experience of devising and implementing international business system solutions to help drive new performance levels in companies, and has worked on many major projects in the record industry.
Anderson said: "The only reason I have left my inspiring colleagues and clients at Accenture is because this is a unique opportunity to use technology to enhance the efficiency and re-design one of the world’s most creative businesses."
