ONE-DAY SALES: NOW 10,
TOBY KEITH ROCKIN’

Either or Both Could Challenge DMB for #1,
but We're Not Really Sure
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: This whole predictificatin’ and prognostifyin’ of the extrapolationships between record sales in the marketplace thing isn’t exactly an exact science—even in the skilled hands of our retail atom-splitters.

Nevertheless, we have some interesting tidbits to bring you. According to early reports from national accounts, both the Now 10 compilation on Epic and Toby Keith’s Unleashed on DreamWorks appear to be on track to sell close to 400k apiece this week.

Why? Because Now is a Now compilation and Toby Keith is riding the adrenaline high of his "Angry American" hit. Dang, that boy's peee-isssed off, ahma tell you whut.

That means both could be in contention for the #1 berth on next week’s Top 50 Albums chart. Depending, of course, how our current #1, the Dave Matthews Band's Busted Stuff, holds up—and with a first week over 610k, chances are it’ll hold up pretty well.

How’s that for some serious waffling? Thank you.

In other freshly streeted albums, it looks like Lil Wayne’s 500 Degreez (Universal) will blow by the 100k mark this week, while TRUSTcompany’s The Lonely Position of Neutral (Geffen) could sell upward of 100k, boosted by Best Buy’s aggressive $5.99 price point.

Meanwhile, both Boyz II Men’s new effort, Full Circle (Arista) and Mario’s eponymous debut (J Records) appear poised to move well over 50k for the week.

And, because life wouldn’t be worth living without one more compilation, Razor & Tie’s Monsta Jamz, featuring Destiny’s Child, Blackstreet and the aforementioned Boyz II Men, among a host of others, should sell about 40k.

Now remember, take all of the above with a big ole grain o’ salt. Or, if you prefer, you could do like our retail guys and take it with a fifth of vodka. The choice is yours.
