TRANS WORLD, MICROSOFT
HIT THE MALL

Mega-Companies Collaborate on "eWorks," Set up Tentative Homework Date
Trans World Entertainment, operator of 700 "FYE" (For Your Entertainment) mall-based music and video stores in the U.S., today announced a wide-reaching business, technology and marketing alliance with Microsoft.

FYE will employ an array of Microsoft technology, including Windows XP-based listening and viewing stations and kiosks, which will use Windows Media to play audio and video samples.

"We are incredibly excited at the opportunity to work with Trans World and FYE to deliver a much richer and more personal user experience for their millions of customers both in-store and online," said Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer of the agreement, which is being called eWorks in that cute kind of dot-com way that so reminds us of the innocence of the roaring 90s.

Unclear at this point is whether eWorks will install a tiny Federal judge into each kiosk to continuously berate and warn of possible antitrust infringements and their dire consequences.
