Top 40 is jumping all over MCA’s K-Ci & JoJo, the top candidate for Most Added honors.

WEEK IN PREVEW: DESTINY'S WILD!

"Survivor" Rules, Faith's "Pearl Harbor" Track Set To Blow Up, Tool Gets Bigger And Longer--And More!
They’re living up to the hype.

The buzz surrounding the release of Destiny’s Child "Survivor" was deafening. The results may just leave you dumbstruck.

Indeed, Columbia’s trio of top-selling hotties will end up somewhere near the 700k mark when first-week sales are finalized Tuesday. Naturally, those wanting to watch the ladies’ bank accounts grow need only hit the sales tab here at hitsdailydouble.com to see the numbers add up.

Those yearning for some intellect need look no further than Top 40, which is jumping all over MCA’s K-Ci & JoJo, the top candidate for Most Added honors. There’s additional buzz over the new Madonna track, which is sizzling from the heat of her upcoming tour. There’s also buzz over NSYNC’s "rocking" track, the upcoming Faith Hill single from the "Pearl Harbor" ST and Sugar Ray’s new one, which hits Top 40 Einsteins Wednesday.

Over in Post Modern land, the cool and hip are outcooling and outhipping themselves by jumping all over Tool’s new track, "Schism," which clocks in at a whopping 6:43. But hey, it’s a fast 6:43. Our "experts" tell us that between PoMo and Active Rock stations, the track has already received more than 2,000 spins. The other PoMo breakout of the week belongs to those cute tattooed love boys, blink-182.

Speaking of experts, we have none in our Jamz department, but that doesn’t prevent them from buzzing over Arista’s Blu Cantrell, which is scoring big for R&B programmers.

Over in Rap land, our fearless brainiacs are yelling about Mystic’s "The Life," which is captivating Rap programmers much like the prospect of peeling a tangerine captivates our Rap Editors.

In a related story, three HITS Editors resigned this week in support of the disgruntled employees at The Hollywood Reporter. It shouldn’t be more than three or four weeks before Editor In Chief Lenny Beer will probably notice that they’re gone.
