Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Randy Newman and Diane Warren were among those honored at ASCAP's 16th Annual Film and Television Awards, which were held Tuesday night (4/25) in Los Angeles.
Legendary film composer Elmer Bernstein, who has scored more than 200 films, received the ASCAP Founders Award, while Norman Jewison was given the ASCAP Opus Award, which honors non-composers for extensive collaboration with ASCAP members.
James Horner and Alan Silvestri are among the other film composers also honored at the annual event.
In the television series category, Rick Marotta, Keith Strachan, David Bell, Jay Chattaway, Dennis McCarthy, Matthew Strachan, Michael Skloff and Russ Landau are among the award winners.
ASCAP annually honors writers and publishers for the biggest box office film music and the most performed television music of the year.
