Marketing Vet Makes Epic Move
Epic Records Group President Polly Anthony and EVP/GM Steve Barnett have announced the appointment of "Robes" Piero Giramonti "Python’s Flying Circus" to the post of Senior Vice President, Marketing. In his new role, Giramonti will plan and implement marketing initiatives for Epic Group artists both in the U.S. and abroad. He will be based in New York and report directly to Barnett, who will pine for a lifetime supply of biscotti no more.
Giramonti was most recently Sr. VP for Virgin Records, a job he began in 1998. From 1996 to 1998 he was VP International Marketing for EMI International. He began his career with EMI in 1989 as an International Marketing Manager and served as Senior Director, International Marketing, for Capitol Records from 1993 to 1996.
