Tim McGraw, "O Brother" Soundtrack Take Home Top Prizes At The CMA Awards

Tim McGraw won Entertainer of the Year honors Wednesday (11/7) at the 35th annual Country Music Association awards show.

The multi-Platinum soundtrack to the Coen Brothers film O Brother, Where Art Thou? also won big, with Album of the Year honors. The movie’s fictitious band, the Soggy Bottom Boys, featuring soloist Dan Tyminski, also took home the Single of the Year award for "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow."

The three-hour show was telecast on CBS from the Grand Ole Opry and featured musical numbers by both young and new artists. Brooks and Dunn opened the show with "Only in America," playing on red, white and blue colored guitars. Willie Nelson and Sheryl Crow also paired up for "I’ll Be There for You."

Seventy-year-old George Jones teamed up with Garth Brooks to sing their duet, "Beer Run," from Jones' latest album The Rock: Stone Cold Country 2001. The performance brought two standing ovations, though several confused members of the audience thought they were being treated to an appearance by WWF superstars The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Other awards included:
Male Vocalist of the Year: Toby Keith
Female Vocalist of the Year: Lee Ann Womack
Vocal Group of the Year: Lonestar
Vocal Duo of the Year: Brooks and Dunn
Song of the Year: "Murder on Music Row" by Larry Cordle and Larry Shell
