LOUDEYE, EMI TIE KNOT
Company Can Now Brag It Has "Done It"
With All Five Major Labels
Loudeye and EMI Tuesday reached a licensing and services agreement for the delivery of music online.

In so doing, Loudeye has now secured the last of the five major labels, having already inked similar deals with Universal, Sony, Warner and BMG (hitsdailydouble.com, 5/2, 12/12, 10/18, 9/22).

The EMI deal encompasses such labels as EMI, Virgin, Capitol, Blue Note, Chrysalis, Parlophone and Priority and includes providing encoded music files to EMI licensees, statutory licensees and EMI for its own digital music initiatives.

In addition, Loudeye has deals in place with more than 800 independent record labels.

Loudeye's streaming sampling service is used by more than 85 e-commerce customers, including Amazon.com, BMG Direct, CDNow and Tower Records.
