TECH ME, I’M YOURS

Listen.com Gets An Ally, CountryCool Gets Offed and Larry King Gets Funky
DREAM TEAM
Stop the presses. DreamWorks Records has teamed with Listen.com to offer free online music samples. Eighteen songs will be available, including tracks from Powerman 5000, Lifehouse and Dave Hollister, live versions from Papa Roach and Nelly Furtado, new songs from Buckcherry, Rufus Wainwright and Alien Ant Farm, and an outtake from Elliott Smith. The tracks will be available for download in three-song "packets" in Windows Media and MP3 formats or can be accessed individually in Real Audio. Samples can be found at http://radio.listen.com/dream through January or at the DreamWorks site through March 19. Said Listen.com President/COO Sean Ryan: "We congratulate DreamWorks on trying new, innovative ways to get excellent music out to music fans online, and we're pleased to be working with them to accomplish this. And maybe we'll even get a discount with Buckcherry's tattoo artist."

SO COOL THEY'RE ON ICE
CountryCool and RockCool are the latest music Web sites to go belly-up. The sister sites will shut down Jan. 31. CountryCool launched in 1996 as the Internet's first Country source. It was also the "official webcaster" for numerous Country Music Association functions. RockCool made its debut in April 2000. A company spokesperson blames Faith Hill's glammed-out new razor cut for the closures.

GOD MUST HAVE SPENT A LITTLE MORE TIME ON MARKET RESEARCH
What could be more exciting than NSYNC on "Larry King Live?" How about an Internet chat with King on his interview with the popsters! The renowned talk-show host made an appearance on MediaX's music site, amuZnet.com, today. Fans fed King questions to ask Lance, Joey, Justin, Chris and JC during his CNN program, which will air live 9 pm ET tonight. In addition, King will use to chat to broaden his presence among adolescents. King said: "I want to have something to talk about with my young wife other than my prostrate problems."
