BUSTA RHYMES SAYS OK TO J

Clive Lures Rapper With Promise To Introduce Him To "That Hot Michelle S."
Hip-hop impresario Busta Rhymes is the latest artist to join the Clive Davis camp, as he signs to J Records.

Under the deal, Rhymes will record as a J Records artist. He will also bring over his own Flipmode Entertainment label, which houses Flipmode Squad and Rah Digga.

The rapper signed to Elektra Records in 1990.

Said Rhymes in a statement: "The legacy of Clive Davis' leadership is undeniable and I respect him tremendously. What intrigued me most about going to J was that Clive believed in my vision as a whole. It wasn't about being in the Busta Rhymes business-for him it was about being in business with Busta Rhymes. What more could I ask for?"

Added Davis, "To me, Busta Rhymes is the quintessential rap star. His charisma, presence and persona are electrifying. All of us at J Records are appropriately amped! I haven't felt this exhilarated since I invented hip-hop music in the late '70s."
